THE TECHNOLOGIES BEHIND CLOUD FILES
Cloud Files provides unlimited online storage on demand. Easily upload, store and transfer files and digital media. And, in an industry first, you can deliver that content to your users at high speeds over Akamai's Content Delivery Network (CDN).
CLOUD FILES STORAGE TECHNOLOGY
Files can be uploaded to Cloud Files in one of three ways:
Inside the Cloud Files datacentre, intelligent software makes multiple copies of your data on at least three different devices in two distinct zones of the datacentre. (Each datacentre zone uses separate power and network connections).
CLOUD FILES CDN TECHNOLOGY

The files you elect to be public are shared out over a content distribution network with locations all over the world. The first time your content is served to a worldwide user (one in Hong Kong, for example), a copy of the content will be stored in cache on the edge servers in that location.

The next time the content is requested, its pulled directly from the cached copy on the edge servers, dramatically reducing delivery time. In this way, the CDN technology integrated into Cloud Files gives your content world-wide presence.
THE INDUSTRY'S SIMPLEST CDN EXPERIENCE
Use the same, simple web interface you use to upload content to Cloud Files. Just right-click any container to make it publicly available across Akamai's CDN. A URL is then provided for use in your site or application. An open API is also available for programmatic control.
We have partnered with Akamai to create a complete storage-to-delivery solution. Today Akamai handles tens of billions of daily Web interactions for their customers such as Audi, NBC, Fujitsu, U.S. Department of Defense and NASDAQ.
Public CDN bandwidth, no matter where your end users are. No extra request fees for content served from the CDN endpoints. No bandwidth charges from Cloud Files to the CDN endpoints (unlike Amazon).
